When Angel Gabriel first revealed to Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus, the Savior of the world, the angel gave her this promise, “He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord will give him the throne of his ancestor David. He will reign over Israel forever; his kingdom will never end. The Holy Spirit will come upon you, the power of the Most High will overshadow you; for that reason the Holy Child to be born will be called the Son of God, for God’s promises can never fail.”

We now come full circle—from the annunciation to the revelation. The final chapter will be written and all promises fulfilled when Jesus returns as “King of Kings” and “Lord of Lords.” The Age of the Holy Spirit and salvation by faith will end. All the prophecies of the Messiah as King will be fulfilled in the New Millennium. A thousand year reign will begin on earth with all believers at his side. They will reign with him as “kings and priests,” bringing peace and prosperity the world has never known. All creation will be restored to its former glory, as it was before the fall of humankind in the Garden of Eden.

Christ will proclaim, “I am making all things new! It is accomplished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water from the spring of life as a gift. This is the victor’s heritage; and I will be their God and they will be my children. Yes, I am coming soon!”

“Come, Light of Life, come!”
